One Block Wonder Class
In this class you will learn to stack six (6) layers of fabric with the pattern stacked directly on top of itself in all 6 layers. A One Block Wonder block is a hexagon, composed of six identical equilateral triangles, that form a kaleidoscope. Each block has three options to design the kaleidoscope, picking your favorite is the hardest part of this class. The easiest part is there are NO Y-seams !
When choosing your fabric DO NOT use hand dyes or batiks, the repeats will not match.
If you like the colors of your fabric you will like the quilt. Larger elements in the print will make interesting hexies. Less background color than printed elements, the better. Too many colors in your print will make designing more difficult.
You will need six repeats of the print on your fabric. A fabric with a 24" repeat is ideal. To determine the repeat of your fabric, pick an element in the pattern, then measure to the point where that element appears again. That measurement is your repeat.
If your repeat is 24" you will need 4.5yds, add a yard if you want to showcase the fabric in the borders.
